Golden Oldies teams from across the Golden Lions Rugby Union (GLRU) area played their monthly Golden Oldies Tournament at Alberton Rugby Club on Saturday, June 25.
This was the first tournament after all the Covid-19 regulations were dropped that so many of the locals came out to support their local club and enjoy a day out.
The weather didn’t play along in the beginning with lots of rain falling overnight forcing the matches to be moved to another field for safety reasons.
The day of rugby promised much and was great fun for all the supporters as well as the players alike and delivered some of the best tries of the year so far.
