Young Alberton boxer claims victory at development tournament
Alberton’s Tristan Hermann made a powerful statement at a development boxing tournament in Pretoria by winning his fight in the first round by Referee Stops Contest (RSC).
Eleven-year-old Tristan Hermann from Alberton Boxing Club delivered a standout performance at a development tournament held at Transnet in Koedoesporrt, Pretoria, on August 2.
The event attracted boxers from 35 clubs across the region, but it was Tristan who rose to the top in the 36kg weight division.
Showing confidence and power well beyond his age, Tristan won his bout by referee stopped contest (RSC) in the first round after proving too strong for his opponent.
His coach, Estelle Greeff, was full of praise for the young athlete.
“Tristan was very strong in his first fight. He showed focus, determination and excellent technique. We were very impressed with his performance,” said Greeff.
