Eden Park boxer Jaden Beswick clinches silver at Gauteng championships

The Gauteng Cadets and Schools’ championships took place at Transnet’s Engineering Boxing Academy in Pretoria.

Eden Park Boxing Club fighter Jaden Beswick showed impressive grit and determination at the Gauteng Cadets and Schools’ championships, held on Saturday, August 2, at Transnet’s Engineering Boxing Academy in Pretoria.

Beswick faced off against Boksburg boxer Bevan Maduma in the final bout, where Maduma edged out a win on points. Despite the result, Beswick walked away with a well-earned silver medal.

His achievement follows hot on the heels of another major success for the club-his cousin, Ruwayden Olifant, was recently crowned South Africa’s flyweight champion for 2025.

Beswick will now represent Gauteng at the upcoming provincial championships.

Eden Park Boxing Club chairperson Sydney Kok praised Beswick’s commitment:

“I feel incredibly proud and happy for Beswick. The boy trains hard and is passionate about the sport. We’ll be training him even harder for the upcoming championships in October to make sure he’s ready for the tough competition he’ll face.”
