Hoërskool Marais Viljoen High School strengthens rugby coaching staff in preparation for 2026

Hoërskool Marais Viljoen High School announced its strengthened coaching lineup for the 2026 rugby season, featuring experienced and qualified coaches.

Hoërskool Marais Viljoen High School is preparing for the 2026 rugby season after the recent strengthening of its rugby coaching staff.

The coaching staff are experienced men, some of whom are former professional rugby players.

“Hoërskool Marais Viljoen Rugby is planning for 2026. Our internal coaches have been allocated for next year’s rugby season, and all the coaches are highly qualified and trained for hard work,” said the school in a statement.

HS Viljoen coaching staff for 2026:

U14 – Shane Kirkwood, Ricus Woest and Aiden Robberts;

U15 – Johan Matthysen and Diederick Botha;

U16 – Henco Saaiman and Arafaat Kock;

Third team – Juan Swart and Sarel Terblanche;

Second team – Helgard Müller and Dewan de Villiers;

First team – Corneel van Dyk, Migael du Plessis and Kirkwood;

Conditioning – Marco Pretorius;

Technical – Coert Scheepers.

“Outside expert coaches will soon join the team, and all the men will attend a forest summit in October to finalise planning for 2026. Watch this space for big things to come. A bush camp in October will be held to finalise the planning,” stated the school.
