Lace up for Alberton’s biggest road race

The race is intended for amateur runners, serious athletes and those who just want to have a fun day out.

Residents of Alberton and surrounding areas are encouraged to lace up for Alberton’s biggest road race for 2025, the PPS Alberton Road Race on November 9.

The race is intended for amateur runners, serious athletes and those who just want to have a fun day out.

The annual PPS road race is hosted by the Alberton Athletics Club, where people choose to do the 4km fun run, 10km grandmaster, or the 21km grandmasters.

The streets of Alberton will come alive on the day, starting from 06:00 at the Alberton Rugby Stadium.

The much-anticipated event offers something for everyone. Known for being well organised, ample parking and an undulating route that lends itself to fast times, participants can look forward to a festive atmosphere and increased prize money for the overall and category winners.

All finishers will be awarded a commemorative medal, while a limited-edition race T-shirt is also available at R180 for those who book early. The event is held under the rules of Athletics South Africa (ASA) and Central Gauteng Athletics (CGA).

Entry Fees (excluding transaction costs):

21km – R260 (Grandmasters R180)

10km – R180 (Grandmaster R100)

4km Fun Run – R50

First 500 online entrants will receive a goodie bag. Medals to all finishers.

Race collections will be at the Alberton Athletic Club at the Alberton Rugby Stadium on the following days:

November 7, between 17:00 and 20:00

November 8, between 09:00 and 14:00

November 9, from 04:45
