Eden Park Boxing Club wants to develop more female fighters
Tamsin Brown and Jaydaa Du Plessis are among the club’s most top female fighters.
The Eden Park Boxing Club is on a mission to recruit more female fighters to grow and develop the sport among young women.
The club already has top young male fighters.
Commenting on the recruitment drive, club chairperson Sydney Kok said, “We want to recruit, develop and grow boxing among young females in Eden Park. Our boys are doing well and competing in top boxing competitions.
Our goal now is to do the same for girls in this community and propel them to heights we know they are capable of reaching.”
Recently, the club’s female fighters, Tamsin Brown and Jaydaa du Plessis, competed at a tournament in Tsakane.
“Four months after taking up the sport, they have already shown that they are ready for bigger fights. The girls did well in their show bouts at the tournament. Eden Park Boxing has had a busy year and I am proud of what we have achieved as a team,” added Kok.
