Jarred ‘Mr Hollywood’ Silverman returns with a statement knockout

He made a powerful comeback in Kagiso, winning by knockout and proving he’s still a force in South African boxing.

Jarred ‘Mr Hollywood’ Silverman made a strong comeback in Kagiso after being out of the ring for nearly eight years. He looked sharp and confident from the start, showing no signs of rust.

Silverman entered the ring with focus and determination. His footwork was steady, he kept his distance well and landed powerful body shots that wore his opponent down.

As the fight went on, Silverman’s punches started to take their toll. A heavy, well-timed shot knocked his opponent to the canvas, and the referee counted him out. Silverman won by knockout.

His manager, Colleen McAusland, said: “This wasn’t just a return; it was a clear statement. The former crowd favourite showed he still has the skills and power that once made him one of South Africa’s promising boxers.”

According to BoxRec, Silverman has had 14 professional fights, winning 11 and losing three. Before his break, he was well known for his style both inside and outside the ring.

His return was delayed by licensing issues with Boxing South Africa. He had to re-earn his professional licence and trained under coaches Vusi Mtolo and Manny Fernandes. His career is now managed by Colleen McAusland.
“But on the night, it all came down to what he did in the ring and he delivered. Silverman proved he still belongs in the sport,” added McAusland.

She added: “Jarred has worked hard for this moment. He’s back and we’re excited for what’s next. We’ll be announcing his next fight date very soon.”
