Top performers shine at Alberton Squash Club champs
Top players took home medals, and the club continues to grow, welcoming newcomers eager to join the excitement.
Alberton Squash Club hosted its annual club champs finals recently, showcasing outstanding talent and growing enthusiasm for the sport among local players.
Alessia Luis claimed gold in the ladies’ finals, followed by Liana Gouveia with silver and Celeste Niewenhuizen securing bronze.
In the men’s finals, Wally Bruchausen took gold with Mark Capell earning silver and Deon Venter rounding off the podium with bronze.
According to club representative Marcel Opperman, this year’s event saw a fantastic turnout, reflecting the club’s significant membership growth and renewed community engagement.
He said the energy and participation this year show just how much the sport is thriving in Alberton.
