Alberton Boxing Club officials represent Gauteng at USSA championship

Two senior officials from Alberton Boxing Club brought their expertise to the 2025 USSA Boxing Championships in Pretoria, ensuring fair play and high standards for athletes from 13 universities.

Alberton Boxing Club continues to make its mark on the provincial stage, with two of its senior officials chosen to represent Gauteng at a major university boxing event.

Estelle Greeff and Gert de Klerk were selected as referees and judges for the USSA (University Sport South Africa) Boxing Championships, held at Transnet Koedoespoort in Pretoria from December 1 to 4.

Their selection places Alberton firmly alongside some of Gauteng’s most respected boxing institutions.

They joined officials from the Tuine Tiere Boxing Club in Pretoria, Piet Hoffmann, Ina Hoffmann and Willie Jansen, in overseeing bouts involving athletes from 13 participating universities.

For Alberton, the appointment of Greeff and De Klerk highlights the club’s growing contribution to boxing development beyond the local ring.

Their involvement at the provincial level reinforces the club’s commitment to excellence, fairness, and the continued upliftment of the sport.
