Eden Park Boxing Club punches above its weight with trio set for major July championships

Three promising Eden Park Boxing Club athletes are preparing to fly the local flag at provincial and national level, while the club also looks ahead to hosting a unique Box n Dine event in September.

Eden Park Boxing Club is celebrating another milestone as three of its young fighters prepare to compete on some of the country’s biggest amateur boxing stages this July.

Mlondolozi Poma and Ruwayden Olifant will represent the club at the upcoming South African Championships, scheduled to take place in Cape Town from July 7 to 12, and Jaden Beswick will compete for the club at the Gauteng Championships in Pretoria later in the month.

For residents of Eden Park, the achievements highlight the club’s growing success and its commitment to developing local talent.

Club chairman Sydney Kok said 2026 has already proven to be one of the busiest years in the organisation’s history.

“This is a hectic year for the club. We have never been so busy,” Kok said, adding that several other boxers from the club are also taking part in tournaments throughout the season.

While the focus is currently on the upcoming championships, the club is also preparing to host a special event later this year.

On September 4, Eden Park Boxing Club will present a Box n Dine experience, which Kok described as something supporters will not want to miss. “Come and witness the best of the best in Gauteng,” Kok said.

With local athletes stepping into the ring at both provincial and national levels, and an exciting showcase planned for September, Eden Park Boxing Club continues to make its mark on the amateur boxing scene while giving Eden Park residents plenty to cheer about.
