It was a weekend to remember for the Alberton’s Legacy Gymnastics Club after its gymnasts delivered an outstanding performance at the provincial qualifier.

Held at the National Training Centre in Centurion on August 28 and 29, the competition saw the team return home with 34 medals. The haul included 27 apparatus medals and seven overall medals, with gymnasts securing first, second, and third-place finishes in their respective categories.

Legacy Gymnastics said the results reflected the dedication, hard work, and countless hours of training the gymnasts and coaches put in throughout the year.

However, the medal haul was not the only reason for celebration.

National showcase awaits squad

Legacy Gymnastics announced that all 45 of its gymnasts had qualified for the National Championships, securing their places at the competition, which will take place from September 24 to 27 in Centurion.

The team will represent Gauteng at nationals, where they will compete against top gymnasts from across South Africa.

The club described having the entire team qualify as a “fantastic achievement” and a moment of pride for the whole Legacy family.

Legacy Gymnastics congratulated every gymnast who competed at the provincial qualifier and thanked its dedicated coaches, parents and families for their continued support.

With 45 gymnasts now qualified, the club’s journey continues at Nationals.
