Joyous Celebration auditions open
Auditions are open for the MTN Joyous Celebration production Joyous 20 giving the public an opportunity to be part of South Africa’s biggest and favourite gospel ensemble. Auditions will be held in most major cities from March 31 to September 2016.
This year, applicants will need to register by sending an SMS to a number and will in turn receive a reference number that will secure their place in the auditions.
Auditions will be held in each of the Joyous 19 tour hosting cities within the week of the performance, starting with Johannesburg and including Port Elizabeth, Durban, Middelburg, Bloemfontein and Rustenburg. Shortlisted and successful candidates will be informed between September and October 2015.
For the Gauteng leg of the auditions, the SMS line opens on Wednesday March 4 and closes at midday on Monday March 30.
Interested individuals over the age of 16 must first decide if they are auditioning as a vocalist (soprano, alto, bass or tenor) or as a musician playing an instrument.
Then they must SMS “AUDITION GAUTENG VOCAL” or “AUDITION GAUTENG INSTRUMENT” to 38008 to register – SMS charged at R 10.
They will then receive a reference number securing their registration. Auditions will take place at the end of March at the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits). Pre-registration is compulsory in order to audition.
