Spring is coming up, and as lockdown restrictions ease, so does the amount of time we spend indoors. Get your hair healthy and looking good before the warmer seasons with the following hair masks:

Let’s be honest, taking care of your hair seems like a laborious routine when you’re stuck at home almost every day. Maybe you’ve fallen off the bandwagon when it comes to actively ensuring that your hair stays healthy. After all, it’s become so normal to get up, take a shower and brush your hair or throw it in a ponytail or into twists. Here are 3 DIY hair masks that you can use to bring life back into your hair:

1. Coconut oil, lemon and egg hair mask

 

This mask will bring shine back into dull, dry and damaged hair. The coconut oil will moisturise your hair while the egg adds much needed nutrients like biotin which strengthens your hair. The lemon will cleanse your hair, removing any pollutants and build up.

What you’ll need:

● Half a cup of coconut oil

● Egg

● Half a lemon

● A bowl

● A whisk

Steps:

● Microwave the coconut oil until it melts

● Squeeze the lemon into the bowl of coconut oil

● Add an egg to the mix and whisk it

● Apply to your hair and leave it on for 30 minutes

● Rinse

2. Avocado and mayonnaise hair mask

 

 

This is the perfect hair mask to combat frizz, strengthen hair, as well as add moisture.

What you’ll need:

● One avocado

● Two tablespoons of mayonnaise

● Two tablespoons of olive oil

● A bowl

● A masher or blender

Steps:

● Blend or mash an avocado

● Mix two tablespoons of mayonnaise

● Mix two tablespoons of olive oil

● Apply to your hair and leave it on for 30 minutes

● Rinse

3. Apple cider vinegar, honey and tea tree oil hair mask

 

This mask is great for removing dandruff, which is said to be caused by fungi. Apple cider vinegar is an antifungal and antibacterial, and so is tea tree oil.

What you’ll need:

● Half a cup of raw apple cider vinegar

● Half a cup of honey

● 5 drops of tea tree oil

● A spray bottle

● A bowl

Steps:

● Pour half a cup of apple cider vinegar in a bowl

● Add half a cup of honey to the mix

● Add 5 drops of tea tree oil

● Put the mixture in a spray bottle

● Spray onto your scalp and leave it on for 30 minutes

● Rinse
