We all know lions are powerful, but one male lion in Pilanesberg took it to another level, trying to drag off an entire elephant by its trunk.

In a video posted on Latest Sightings – Kruger’s Facebook page, an ambitious male seemed determined to claim the whole elephant for himself, tugging at the trunk with impressive strength, but way too much confidence.

According to information in the Facebook post, the elephant was seriously injured in a fight and unable to move, and was humanely euthanised by park management last week.

Lions then took over the scene, feasting and squabbling over the massive carcass.
