Alex’s very own to participate in a World pageant
Flying Alex's flag is Oyama Tshazibana as she will represent South Africa in Durban for the world pageant.
Alex’s Oyama Tshazibana will compete in the Miss Eco-Tourism world pageant which will be held in Durban in October.
The 19-year-old BSc Biokinetics student from the University of Johannesburg will be representing South Africa in the teen category, where she will be competing with other teenage girls from Botswana, eSwatini, Ethiopia, Ghana, India, Kenya, Liberia, Namibia, Nigeria, Philippines, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

Tshazibana said the eco-tourism pageant was launched in 2021 in Durban by Ntombfuthi Gumede, hence South Africa will be the host of the world pageant.
The aim of the pageant is to raise awareness around the most disregarded advocacy which is taking care of nature, she said.
This organisation focuses on the safe travelling around the world while ensuring that the environment is taken care of for the well-being of the people and future generations.

“As an eco-tourism queen, I will advocate for environmental health and children’s needs because of my love, care, and concern for our nation’s children. Currently, I am in the process of finding companies that I can collaborate with in my ‘Plant a Tree’ project,” Tshazibana said.
She added that it is not an easy task sending out emails hoping that one company or organisation comes back to say it will help. “I also would like to collaborate or help in my community clean-ups simply because that’s one way we can keep a healthy environment.”
