It’s not all is doom and gloom for Stars

United Stars coach Sakhile Zulu says his biggest headache is to convince the boys they can bounce back and win the championship.

Alex Royal Tigers coach Thabang Radebe will cherish the moment of being one of the few teams that tarnished the 14-match unbeaten run of United Stars.

This happened in the Alexandra Northrand Local Football Association’s (ANLFA) Promotional League that paves the way for teams to be promoted one rung up the ladder of an ambitious journey to play in the country’s prestigious Premier Soccer League.

Radebe’s boys are the third team to dim the bright Stars’ glow after AmaSkills United did it in the final game of the first round of the league.

Then came Black Mask FC, who inflicted Satrs’ second defeat. The Mask side has accumulated 49 points, after it walloped Socca Dream 6-1 to relegate Stars to second spot with 48 points.

Soon after his side’s 2-1 win over Stars, a delighted Radebe praised his boys for sticking to the game plan and keeping their shape, which denied Stars its hard-running game by closing the free spaces.

“It’s a victory we shall cherish as we mount a late assault for the championship for possible promotion. We hope to continue to grind the results one match at a time, hoping it finally pays off,” Radebe said.

Stars coach Sakhile Zulu said the unseating of his side on the summit was not the end of the world. “We still have ample time to grind the points from elsewhere to regain our top spot.

United Stars coach Sakhile Zulu’s current headache is how to motivate the boys to bounce back.

“The biggest headache I have is how to motivate the boys to convince them they can still return to the summit and even go as far as being crowned champions. Not all is doom and gloom after this loss.

“It’s a temporary speed bump and we can still bounce back and win the league. That is still possible, and all we need is to work hard and be competitive,” said Zulu soon after the game.

Automatic promotion to the Hollywoodbets Johannesburg Men’s Regional League awaits the team that will be crowned champions.

The Hollywood bets league is already flooded by seven or more teams from Alexandra, some of which have been languishing in that league for almost a decade now.
