Ward Governance regional manager Vuyiswa Thomas has issued a notice to residents of Alexandra regarding the new temporary offices that will be used by councillors to provide services to the community.
This follows the recent arson attacks of the governance offices at the Multipurpose Community Centre (MPCC) in 8th Avenue, where the offices and an adjacent clinic were torched, allegedly by disgruntled voters after the discovery of ballot boxes dumped all over the township.
“You are hereby notified that due to recent attacks at MPCC offices, ward councillors will be providing services to the community at new venues until further notice,” Thomas said.
Councillors Ambie Maseko 083 257 4514 and Deborah Francisco 083 558 1797 will provide services from the Bombani Centre in 8th Avenue near the old fire station.
Councillors Monde Mbingeleli 083 445 1468, Lilian Kekana 079 145 3380 and Mokgadi Radebe 083 558 1797 will be stationed at the 2nd floor offices in Sanpark Building on 24 Fredman Drive, Sandton.
Councillors Joyce Ngwenya 083 257 4514 and Julia Moloi 083 445 1468 will be at the Altrek Sports Complex in Eastbank, Alexandra, Three Square Sports Ground at the corner of 13th Avenue and Josias Madzunya Street, Alexandra respectively.
