Spokesperson for Alex Police Station, Captain Allie Kodisang said the complainant went to Alex Magistrates’ Court at 8.30am on 24 October after locking up and ensuring the house was secure.

On her return at 5pm, she found the burglar door damaged and forced open and a money box containing R500 missing. “She asked her daughter who was nearby and she claimed seeing the son seated in front of the house but didn’t notice any break-in. The complainant suspected the son who was allegedly involved in several other thefts in the house in the past,” said Kodisang.
