Alex residents march to Region E offices over water and electricity cuts

ALEX - Residents demand answers over service delivery issues.

Residents of Alexandra have started gathering at KwaNobuhle hostel in preparation for their march to the City of Joburg region E offices in Sandton to tender their grievances. Residents said they are sick and tired of electricity and water cuts which have been going on for months.

What is noticeable is that many of them are wearing Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) regalia.

Metro police spokesperson, Edna Mamonyane, explained that protestors were from Madala Hostel and were complaining about dilapidated buildings and service delivery.

“The march has been approved by Metro police. Protestors will be handing a memorandum to their ward councillor stationed at the Region E offices,” she said.
