#AlexOutage City Power work overnight to repair substation
ALEXANDRA – Substation caught fire on Tuesday evening, leaving 2nd Avenue and 18 Avenue in darkness for two days.

City Power worked through the night repairing a substation that caught fire on 2 July, leaving 2nd Avenue and 18th Avenue in the dark for two days.

We anticipating the work to be completed and power restored by Thursday, should everything go accordingly.
This is due to the fact that the work will involve removing shacks built right by the wall of the substation which makes it difficult to access cables. #AlexOutage pic.twitter.com/cT9WlYGo9J— @CityPowerJhb (@CityPowerJhb) July 3, 2019
