Amongst these two winners, there have been quite a few individuals who have had the luck of winning substantial pay-outs in the SA Lotto during 2020. It is not common for players to share in such substantial pay-outs and often even those who do not win the grand pay-out have more than enough chance to be lucky enough to share their prize with others.
French Lotto and South Africa
Betting events in France and South Africa have one thing in common; both offer substantial pay-outs waiting for lucky betters to claim them. The lotto France jackpot currently has a grand prize of 90 million ZAR which remains unwon in addition to the 50 million ZAR pay-out which is up for grabs on the SA lotto. The French lotto has been around since 1975 and it is solely operated by the French government. Sine 2018 around 50% of the lottery was made public with the aim of making it a lot more competitive. As of Monday, November 23, the French Loto pay-out is standing on €5,000,000, or 90 million ZAR whereas the South African Lotto has a pay-out of 50 million ZAR.
Largest pay-outs and draws South Africa
Although, as of late, there have not been any substantial pay-out amounts which have been won on the SA Lotto, some of the largest pay-outs ever won, apart from the aforementioned pay-out of 90 million ZAR, include the following:
- 79 million ZAR – 2019 – in Cape Town where the winner donated 2 million ZAR to a petrol attendant which had always been polite and helpful towards her. She assisted her daughter in fulfilling her dream to obtain a psychology degree and bought a house with a garden so that her grandson could play in it.
- 110 million ZAR – 2018 – Four winning tickets each took home the grand pay-out worth 27.5 million ZAR each. There were 21 rollovers which occurred for the pay-out to reach this extravagant size. One of the four winners only claimed his prize a day before it would have expired.
- 58 million ZAR – 2018 – A 50-year old woman enjoyed her Mother’s day in style when she had won the pay-out. Whereas she normally bet on other events, she decided to try the SA Lotto due to the substantial pay-out.
- 58 million ZAR – 2013 – there were two lucky winners of this substantial pay-out.
