Rape charges against ANC councillor Kenneth Mgaga withdrawn

ALEX – Apart from voluntarily stepping aside, he did not do public statements and respected the unfolding legal process, said ANC Zone 13.

African National Congress councillor Kenneth Mgaga appeared in the Wynberg Magistrates’ Court where his charge of rape was provisionally withdrawn.

“We have always maintained that we have confidence in law enforcement agencies as well as the judiciary and we believe that the decision was well considered by the court. We also wish to acknowledge Mgaga’s exemplary conduct during this period,” said the African National Congress Zone 13.

They said apart from voluntarily stepping aside during the investigation, Mgaga did not issue any public statements and respected the unfolding legal process.

“We will recommend to the Regional Executive Committee that Cadre Mgaga be allowed to continue serving in structures where he has been deployed and to lead the community in their daily struggles.”
