Artwork voter walks away with R5 000
ALEXANDRA – Winner of the R10 000 artwork competition will be announced once the votes have been counted and tallied.
A lucky voter in in the Dial-A-Mula art competition at the Yarona Building next to the Pan Africa Mall walked away with R5 000 just for casting his vote.
Khensani Mnisi (19), who completed school a year ago and has just started at his first job on 10 May, said he was delighted to have been drawn out of the many votes cast.
“I am grateful to Dial-A-Mula for organising the art competition otherwise I would not be R5 000 richer. I haven’t decided what I will do with the money as the windfall caught me off-guard but as soon as the dust settles, I am sure I will make up my mind as to what I want to do with the money,” said a soft-spoken Khensani of 12th Avenue.
The second lucky guy was Neliseka Nematangane (20) of corner 8th Avenue and John Brand Street, who said he will use his winning to revamp his wardrobe. “I am going to buy myself new clothes.”
Elton Padia of Dial-A-Mula in Kyalami said the votes will be counted and tallied and then they will return in a couple of days to announce the winner of the R10 000 artwork competition, which has been made possible by a partnership between Dial-A-Mula, which is a subsidiary company of Aurum Wealth Creators (Pty) Ltd, and Alex FM.
Dial-A-Mula has since taken office space at the Yarona Building which houses the studios of the community radio station where it will create a kind of mural art exhibition space for the winning Alex artist.
