Sandton Cricket Club Women’s player shatters records in stunning 289-run victory

With 203 runs and 3 wickets, Mankwana Moriri’s all-round performance crushed Dalikay Cricket Club Women and set new records in the CGL Women’s President League.

Mankwana Moriri delivered an unforgettable performance recently as Sandton Cricket Club Women thrashed Dalikay Cricket Club Women by 289 runs in one of the most remarkable displays in CGL Women’s President League history.

Moriri, already a rising star, rewrote the league’s record books with a blistering 203 off just 70 balls.

According to Amos Maungwa, the club’s communication person, Moriri’s explosive knock, featuring 34 boundaries and 7 sixes, not only propelled her team to a massive total of 339/1 but also earned her the record for the highest individual score in league history.

Maungwa said: “Moriri’s brilliance didn’t stop with the bat. After setting the bar with her sensational innings, she turned in a match-winning performance with the ball, taking 3 wickets for just 7 runs in 4 overs.”

He added that her all-round mastery played a pivotal role in restricting Dalikay to a paltry 50 runs, securing one of the most dominant victories in the competition’s history.

Moriri said: “This record-breaking feat has firmly placed me in the spotlight, not only as one of the league’s most exciting talents but as a player capable of shaping Sandton’s future in the CGL Women’s President League.”
