Rodio sounds blend mediums in Alex
Valentine’s Day in Alexandra may sound breathtaking to those who find Brandon Rodio’s sounds in time to enhance their day of romance.
From as early as nine years old, Alex musician Brandon Rodio remembers being drawn to the art of making music.
Rodio, who performs under the stage name UglyBeingRodio and Rodio2TheWorld reflected on the music he produces under his signature brand as he takes us back to where his musical journey began in 2014.

“I enjoyed music growing up but I didn’t know how to approach the industry,” Rodio said. To his benefit, Rodio said it was opportune that a musical producer who had a studio, stayed next door.
Since his first recording session that year, Rodio has gone on to produce a style of music which fuses elements from new age, trap and alternative hip-hop as part of his artistry.
“My supporters feel the sound; I call it Natas [new age, trap, alternative)]” said Rodio.

Rodio added he began teasing the release of his extended playlist (EP), NTFL, in October 2024, earning positive reactions calling his work a ‘Hood Monalisa of love: a journey of love, from heartbreak to finding new love’ from those whom he shared his sounds with.
“Honestly NTFL was just one song until it started getting buzz. People pushed me to work on the project and I ended up conjuring the most flames.”
Rodio, who said if he were not making music, he’d be an average guy working somewhere, will release his EP on Valentine’s Day.
Looking back at his journey, Rodio confessed that his family didn’t always understand his path until he gained supporters as he continued to reach milestones in his career.
Of being an artist from Alex, Rodio said, “It’s not easy, hey. Nothing is really easy when you face a lot of challenges, and you find yourself around people who don’t understand you. But my friends have always believed in me; I’d say that they’re the ones who push me to work hard in how they always tell me the truth. Nothing comes easy, we just need to keep on working hard and stay consistent.”
Rodio concluded with good wishes for everyone in Alexandra as the new unfolds.
“Remember to smile a lot. Always stay true to yourself self, don’t let anything shake you and work hard for the care of your loved ones.”
