Progress on Sandton Rea Vaya BRT rollout
Concrete works and stormwater upgrades signal progress on the Sandton Rea Vaya station project.
The Johannesburg Development Agency (JDA) has announced continued progress on the Phase 1C Rea Vaya BRT station on Rivonia Road in Sandton.

This vital station, set to improve public transport in the area, will feature dedicated bus docking bays, bypass lanes, and enhanced pedestrian access to streamline commuting.
Key developments at the site include the commencement of concrete floor works for the link bridge construction and ongoing engineered layer works for ramp construction aimed at improving accessibility.

Additionally, stormwater infrastructure upgrades are underway, with the existing 1 100mm stormwater pipe being connected for better drainage management.
“The upgrades being made are essential for creating a more connected and efficient Johannesburg. We appreciate the patience of the community as we work toward building a world-class public transport system for the city,” said JDA.
