Amagomora album and school tour set to rock Alex schools
The upcoming Amagomora school tour, spearheaded by Kgotlello 'Sayza' Machoga and Mthuthuzeli 'Rayzor' Thomas, is set to serve Alexandra learners with life lessons and entertainment.
With the Amagomora Vol 3 album and a school tour on the cards, learners and teachers in schools across Alexandra can brace themselves to be mesmerised. The album will be released on June 30, and the school tour, held under the Amagomora organisation, will follow on July 25.

Alex artist Kgotlello ‘Sayza’ Machoga, who will be leading the tour, alongside local musician and actor Mthuthuzeli ‘Rayzor’ Thomas, said the tour is intended to inspire young people in Alexandra. “We want to show them that this entertainment thing can take you far. Also, we want to take every artist to the top. We want to show our people that we can do this, no matter how hard it is.”
As part of their annual tradition, Sayza said they plan to do more than just entertain learners; they also want to improve the lives of learners who come from destitute families by giving them food parcels, school uniforms, clothes, sanitary pads, and stationery. “We realise that a lot of teenagers drop out due to a lack of uniforms, sanitary pads, food, and other items that help them to stay focused on their studies.”

The tour will also address some of society’s plaguing issues, such as teenage pregnancy and substance abuse. This, according to Sayza, will help learners in a number of ways. “They will be able to attend school full-time, produce good results, and improve their self-care and confidence.”
He said, by ensuring that young people stay away from drugs and gangsterism, the tour can change people’s perspective about Alexandra, from seeing it as a place of hopelessness to a place of talent and opportunities. Only then will residents of Alex gain full confidence in calling themselves Amagomora, which means ‘Alexandra people’.
However, he admits that they cannot do it alone. “We are trying to show people that we need their support. We want to gain their trust and build a fan base from our people.”
