Residents find body floating in Jukskei river
Body discovered in Jukskei River. Police are on the scene, but questions remain about how the man died.
Police have launched an investigation after a man’s body was found floating in the Jukskei River near Setswetla on Thursday morning.
The area has been cordoned off as officers await forensic teams to arrive. It remains unclear whether the man died at the scene or if his body was dumped in the river, as some speculate. A pair of shoes, believed to belong to him, were recovered nearby.

Authorities confirmed that his family has not yet arrived.

Residents described the discovery as a grim reminder of past incidents in the area, which has long battled a reputation for such tragedies. “Week after week, we used to find bodies here,” one resident said.

“Recently it has improved. Sometimes we go a month without such discoveries.”
Police have not yet released an official statement regarding the incident.
