Sinothando Day Care Centre wishes its learners well as they take the step to primary school

Sinothando Day Care Centre’s year–end celebration showed that when a community comes together, joy and hope shine through every child’s face.

Sinothando Day Care Centre in Alexandra recently hosted its graduation ceremony, combining it with a Christmas party as the festive season draws close.
More than just a celebration, the event, according to the centre’s Thandi Luruli, marked the completion of an important phase in the children’s lives. This comes as numerous reports on early childhood development (ECD) learning underscore the critical role of early childhood education in children’s brain development.

She reflected proudly on their growth, noting that the children are now ready to take the giant leap into their primary school years, a readiness underscored by the confidence and composure with which they walked across the stage. “Their confidence and excitement were a beautiful reminder of the importance of early childhood education and the dedication of our staff.”

This was a special moment in their journey, a transition from ECD into primary school – a moment that Sinothando saw fit to share with parents, teachers, and community members, demonstrating just how important education, family, and community spirit are in shaping the future of children in Alexandra. “The joy on the children’s faces captured the true spirit of the festive season. Events like these highlight the strength of our community and the bright futures of our learners.”

Luruli extended gratitude to parents, teachers, and supporters, who contributed to the event, noting their support helped ensure its success.

Now, as the young ECD graduates look ahead to their new journey, they do so with the confidence that they have been sufficiently prepared for what lies ahead, and with the full support of their families and community.
