Sassa February grants start Tuesday, with older persons expected to lead the way
Sassa reminds everyone to update their details now to secure smooth payouts as they gear up for a busy month.
The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has confirmed the February 2026 social grant payment dates, with disbursements kicking off early next week for over 19 million beneficiaries. As households manage month-end pressures, Sassa is urging recipients to verify and update personal and banking details straight away to prevent any interruptions.
Older persons grants will be paid first on February 3, followed by disability grants on February 4. All children’s grants, including child support, foster child, and care dependency, along with other grants, will be disbursed on February 6.

Funds will be deposited directly into bank accounts on these dates or can be collected in cash at Pick n Pay, Shoprite, Checkers, Boxer, and official Sassa pay points. The R370 social relief of distress (SRD) grant is handled separately, with payments typically processed between February 24 and March 2 (business days only). Sassa emphasises that money remains available in accounts until withdrawn, so beneficiaries do not need to queue on the exact payment day.
Grant amounts continue from the recent adjustments, with older persons grants at R2 320 for ages 60–74 and R2 340 for those 75 and older. Disability and care dependency grants are R2 320 each. Child support grants stand at R560 per child, foster child grants at R1 250 per child, and grant-in-aid at R560.

Direct bank deposits offer the safest and quickest access. Cash withdrawals are possible at retail outlets using a Sassa card or at pay points and post offices, where queues often form.
