Sbosh brings women together through aerobics at KwaDlozi’s carwash

Sibongile Tshabalala is turning The Dip into Alexandra’s fitness hotspot, where women of all ages come together to sweat, celebrate, and discover the joy of movement.

KwaDlozi’s carwash is not just about shedding water; sometimes it turns into a place to shed calories.

The carwash, better known as The Dip, was recently filled with energy on March 14, as Sibongile ‘Sbosh’ Tshabalala hosted an energetic aerobics event.

From early morning, women of all ages gathered to move, sweat, and celebrate together. “Most women, young and old, woke up to participate in this special event to celebrate human rights month by doing aerobics,” said Tshabalala, who, overtime has become a familiar face in Alexandra’s fitness scene.

Sbosh’s mission is to show her community that exercise can be fun, accessible, and transformative. “People are now noticing that the more you exercise, it can be aerobics, yoga, walking, or running, you can still reduce those unwanted calories,” she explained.

Her efforts go beyond aerobics. She has introduced fun walks and hiking, activities that have quickly gained traction. “I see more activities coming up, Sbu ‘Piper,’ Dlozi, Soso, and Ephy are helping me with the hiking and the fun walks, and people really enjoy what I am doing.”

The momentum is not slowing down. Starting April 6, she said she will host morning aerobics sessions at The Dip, running Monday to Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. “All ages are welcome,” she emphasised.

She also made sure to thank those who supported her March event. “I would like to thank everyone who took their time to participate, not forgetting Walter from Walter Waters, Lebo, Freedom Supermarket, Boitumelo Ngwako, and everyone who contributed. And of course, The Dip family for allowing us to use their place.”

With her passion and persistence, Sbosh is carving out a space where fitness and community spirit meet. “I will continue to organise these kinds of events around Alex,” she promised, hinting that more activities are already on the horizon.
