Ward 116 councillor and chair of chairs Adolph Marema extends warm festive wishes to the residents of Alexandra, urging them to celebrate this joyful time while prioritising safety and responsibility.
Marema acknowledged the festive spirit that fills the community and highlighted the potential dangers that can arise from excessive celebration.
“We must remember that too much joy can lead to problematic situations. It’s essential for us to take care and behave ourselves during this joyous time,” he said.

Marema cautioned against drunk driving, urging residents to be responsible when celebrating with friends and family. “We want our community to enjoy the festivities, but safety should always come first. Please don’t drink and drive,” he cautioned.
Additionally, Marema referenced a humorous but poignant reminder to avoid the three Ws while at social gatherings: Wine, women, and war.
