Masibonge Zondo’s brace, and Ntokozo Ntshangase goal in the first half, earned Alex Black Poison maximum points, improving their league position.

In a Hollywoodbets Safa Johannesburg Regional League Alex-derby on March 9, Alex Black Poison dominated Ma-Africa with a 3–0 victory at the Alex Safe Hub Stadium.

The win elevates Black Poison to 29 points after 19 games, improving their league position. Ma-Africa, with only 16 points from 19 matches, remains near the bottom of the table.

The match commenced at 13:00, with Johannes Mataboge officiating the proceedings. The initial stages of the game unfolded at a moderate pace, with much of the action concentrated in the midfield.

While Ma-Africa managed to register a few early attempts on goal, these efforts proved insufficient to trouble Wandile Dlamini, the Black Poison goalkeeper, who remained largely untroubled.

Black Poison gained control, with Zondo hitting the post, and Ntshangase missing the rebound. Ma-Africa sought to respond, and Murangi Bebeda rose well to meet a corner kick delivered by Baldwin Nemalele, but his headed attempt sailed harmlessly over the crossbar.

Ntshangase consistently troubled Bebeda on the right-wing, forcing a save from Ma-Africa’s keeper, Andani Rambau.

Zondo, equally menacing for Black Poison, eventually found the breakthrough, slotting the ball into the net to give his side a 1–0 lead. He pounced on a loose ball inside Ma-Africa’s 18-yard box, clinically finishing the opportunity.

Just before the halftime whistle, Ntshangase doubled Black Poison’s advantage. Terrence Ngwenya delivered a precise, defense-splitting pass that found Ntshangase in a one-on-one situation with the goalkeeper, which he calmly converted to make it 2–0.

Upon the resumption of play after halftime, Black Poison maintained their momentum. Sihle Shange and Zondo both had opportunities to extend their lead, but their respective efforts strayed wide of the target.

Ma-Africa gradually began to find their footing in the game, carving out more chances for themselves. Katang Masemola and Thapelo Mofokeng both saw their attempts miss the mark.

As the game intensified, emotions flared, leading to Black Poison coach Eric Paul being red carded with what the referee deemed as offensive language, seemingly motivating Ma-Africa.

However, Black Poison’s counter-attacks proved decisive. Ntshangase assisted Zondo for his second goal, sealing the 3–0 win. Freddy Ntshebele later missed a one-on-one opportunity to extend the lead.
