Killers of community activist still at large
Police continue to follow leads as suspects behind the fatal shooting of Alexandra community activist Vincent Ndima remain at large.
Months after the fatal shooting of Alexandra businessman and community activist Vincent Ndima, police are yet to bring the suspects to justice.
According to station commander Brigadier Vusimuzi Ngubane, the investigating officers are still following up on leads. “They got information and they are following it up.
I know it takes too long, that man deserves justice. That man was working with everyone. When I say everyone, [I mean] the community and police,” Ngubane told community broadcaster Alex FM.
Ngubane stressed that the docket will not be closed and that detectives remain committed to solving the case. “We are not going to rest until we get those perpetrators, and I trust the detectives of Alexandra. They will follow it up. It is just that the community must be patient.”

He appealed to the public to share any information that could assist investigators, assuring that the identity of informants would be protected. “We are not going to say it is you. It will be anonymous. Without you, we are nothing. We need help from the community.”
Ndima was fatally shot on October 6 while driving along Joe Nhlanhla Street. He was with his friend, Thabo Mahane, who sustained injuries and was hospitalised.
Police reports indicate that Ndima was found deceased in his vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds. Cases of murder and attempted murder were subsequently opened.
As investigations continue, the motive behind the attack remains unclear. Ndima’s death has left a void in Alexandra, where he was known as a businessman deeply involved in community activism.
