Alexandra’s own Luke Starring keeps fans streaming with Fantastic Four

Hip Hop artist Luke Starring has fans hooked on his latest release, Fantastic Four, a four-track EP that has cemented his place as one of the community’s most consistent voices in hip-hop.

As 2026 rolls on, South African rap artist Lebogang Nkwane, also known as Luke Starring, is riding high on the momentum of his latest project.

His four-track extended play (EP), Fantastic Four, marks a mature and refined chapter in a career now spanning more than a decade. The EP, which has kept fans streaming nonstop, perfectly shows Luke’s evolution, while staying true to the lyricism and urban kwaito style that built his loyal following.

It delivers exactly what its title promises, and even more. It has four tracks that impeccably flow like a cohesive narrative. It opens with the upbeat Kumnandi, featuring Nuff & Mos, followed by radio-ready, Ntofo Lyf, with Tshepo ‘Howza’ Mosese, a feel-good song that quickly climbed the Alex FM charts.

The third track, Samayethu, featuring Supreme Shaman and Suup Zulu, is a summer song that Luke says inspired other artists. Top Thokozile closes the EP with a love song that paints Luke’s vision of an ideal partner: An independent woman who embodies balance in a relationship.

“Who is Top Thokozile? Top Thokozile is a woman who works for herself, but also can support, and get support, from a man. It’s a soul sister. It’s like a dream woman for any man.” He added that the lyrics speak for themselves once listeners hear them.

Although more songs were recorded, Luke felt these four were strong enough to define the project and introduce the sound he wanted. His strategy has been to take it slow, letting fans fully absorb each release before moving on to the next big hit.

Beyond music, Luke continues to build his brand. His LS Clothing line, born from the logo he first used in 2016, has grown from caps and hoodies into a fully-fledged fashion business. “Funny thing is that when I started releasing music in 2016, I had an LS logo. I released the music and then made caps and hoodies so people could come to my shows wearing my merchandise.”

What began as fan-driven support has now evolved into a professional label, showing that Luke’s vision now extends far beyond the studio.
