JOBURG - The Executive Committee of the newly formed Region E Sport Council has invited various sporting codes from the region to it's first General Meeting on 29 November.
The Executive Committee of the newly formed Region E Sport Council has invited various sporting codes from the region to its first general meeting on 29 November.
The meeting will be held at the Altrek Sport Grounds in Alexandra’s upmarket Eastbank section and will start at 9am. The newly elected secretary general of the Region E Sport Council, Themba Ndlovu, said the sport council had convened successive meetings to discuss the state of sports in the region.
“This was in order to put together plans to be implemented next year and beyond and also to identify existing sport and recreation structures and develop a database from the information generated,” said Ndlovu, who also announced the election of Nonhlanhla Maboa and Mmatshepo Makola as ex-officio members.
They will be representing the interests of the City of Johannesburg’s Region E and Gauteng Sport and Recreation respectively. Ndlovu said they are inviting the Region E sport and recreation community, organisations, clubs, federations, athletes or players, coaches, volunteers, match officials and administrators to the meeting.
“All structures are requested to only send three delegates per structure to attend and participate in this meeting. The executive looks forward to seeing and meeting all of you on 29 November as we endeavour to begin this journey of shaping and delivering sport in Region E,” he said.
