Dented Chiefs to face unpredictable Ajax
JOBURG - Wounded log leaders Kaizer Chiefs will be keen to amend the dent when they face unpredictable Ajax Cape Town at the FNB Stadium on 4 March.
Wounded log leaders Kaizer Chiefs will be keen to return to winning ways when they face unpredictable Ajax Cape Town at the FNB Stadium on 4 March.
The Absa Premiership fixture between Amakhosi and the Urban Warriors is expected to be a mouthwatering affair. Amakhosi hope to make amends for their first league defeat in 19 games which was inflicted by Gordon Igesund’s SuperSport United.
Amakhosi tops the log with 47 points from 20 games and were humbled by Matsatsantsa A Pitori 2-0 when league matches resumed following a moth-long break as a result of the African Cup of Nations tournament.
The Urban Warriors will be looking forward to rubbing salt into the wound of Amakhosi with an away victory.
Amakhosi are 10 points ahead of defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns who will be in action tonight against Bidvest Wits University. Downs on the other hand will be hoping to collect all the three points at stake and thereby close the gap between them and Chiefs.
“We are looking forward to each and every match we have to play,” said Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter. “Ajax are a tough side. They have in their team good and enthusiastic young players full of energy who like to run-off their opponents. We have to prepare well against them.”
Ajax occupy fourth spot on the log with 28 points and they too would like to make amends as Chiefs beat the Urban Warriors 1-0 in their backyard early in this season.
