Wits coach, Gavin Hunt, admitted that it is not going to be an easy challenge against United, as both teams will fight for honours.
“All teams will be looking to win their first game, knowing that they will be left with two games to win the title,” said Hunt.
He said they have kept the nucleus of their team from last season, with only a few new players joining the club. One of the new recruits is the nimble-footed Elias Pelembe from Mamelodi Sundowns who joined the team on a free transfer.
The MTN8 quarter-final fixtures will be played mid-week this season on 4 and 5 August and the Premier Soccer League has confirmed that tickets for the fixtures are now available at Computicket and Shoprite stores countrywide.
Newly-appointed United captain, Thuso Phala, was confident that his team would pass the Wits test.
“With the new players that have been added to our squad it adds extra quality to our team going forward.”
