ALEXANDRA - Alex United, which has struggled for a number of years to gain promotion to the National First Division, have secured support for yet another attempt at gaining promotion.

The Hope City Giants, as they are fondly known to their faithful supporters in Alexandra, has secured sponsorship from Broll Auctions and Sales.
Nick Nicolaou, one of the directors of the club, hopes this sponsorship will be a catalyst for their ultimate promotion this year from the ABC Motsepe League, after many years of trying.
“Having finished second in the league last season and with over one million football supporters in Alexandra, Alex United has a huge fan base which is hungry for success,” said Nicolaou.
Head coach, Tracy Pepper said, “Our goal is to work hard and move up division by division until we reach the prestigious Premier Soccer League, and hope to become a force to be reckoned with in that space.”
Administered by the South African Football Association, the ABC Motsepe League is the second tier of South African football before the ultimate Premier Division, which is run by the Premier Soccer League.
The winner’s of the ABC Motsepe League are entered into a play-off competition with the two finalists winning promotion to the National First Division for the new season.
