Outstanding Alex rugby players receive awards
ALEXANDRA – Rugby players of the Alex Wolves Rugby Club are bestowed with recognition awards for their seasonal performances.
The Alexandra Wolves Rugby Club has honoured its outstanding players at its year-end ceremony at East Bank High School.
The president of the club, Ellias Mpengu thanked the players for their enthusiasm. “It has been a fruitful year for the club, as the players have shown commitment to this amazing sport,” he said.
“This day is dedicated to award these youngsters for their time, effort and passion which they invested in the team which, by the way, has no official sponsor at all and mainly relies on donations from Good Samaritans.”
U15 awards for boys:
- Most Improved Player of the Season – Carlos Avalimao
- Forward Player of the Season – Lesedi Boiselo
- Backline Player of the Season – Mthandazo Mlambo
- Players Player of the Season – Carlos Avalimao

U17 awards for boys:
- Most Improved Player of the Season – Tebatso Pallele
- Forward Player of the Season – Tabatso Pallele
- Backline Player of the Season – Khula Msuthwana
- Players Player of the Season – Khula Msuthwana
- Player of the Season – Khula Msuthwana.
U19 awards for boys:
- Most Improved Player of the season – Anam Khewana
- Forward Player of the Season – Anam Khewana
- Backline Player of the Season – Katlego Phosho
- Players Player of the Season – Anam Khewana
- Player of the Season – Anam Khewana.
Girls’ awards – no age category:
- Most Improved Player of the Season – Kamohelo Mofokeng
- Forward Player of the Season – Tebogo Mathlo
- Backline Player of the Season – Kamohelo Mofokeng

- Player of the Season – Sarah Skhosana
There were no awards for the first team and the Coach of the Year Award was given to Andile Kahla.
