Anyone for chennis?

JOBURG - There is a new sport being promoted in Johannesburg and it's called chennis.

A new sporting code known as chennis, which is a combination of chess and tennis and is played on a tennis court, has been launched.

Chennis is being championed by Bioplus, an energy drink of Adcock Ingram Consumer, and was launched on 5 September at the Pirates Club in Greenside. Juliet Fourie, managing director of the company said she was not in a position to disclose the sponsorship amount.

The game is played like a normal tennis game without the net. In place of the net are a chess board and its pieces. Whoever wins the point makes their move on the chess board. The player or players who win the tennis match is deemed the winner.
