Rangers boss appointed LFA life-president

ALEXANDRA – The recent deaths of DC members and the appointment of John Mnisi as life-president has created vacancies on the DC.

A member of the Alex Football Veterans Association (AFVA) John Mnisi, who also serves on the disciplinary committee of the Alexandra Northrand Local Football Association (LFA), has called on interested veterans to volunteer their time and services on the adjudication committee.

Mnisi, who owns Rangers FC that plies its trade in the LFA’s Promotional League and a long time servant of the township’s football body, said there were a number of vacant posts that needed to be filled in the committee to enable it to operate optimally.

Some of those posts resulted from the recent deaths of members of the disciplinary committee, and the LFA was eager to fill them to allow for the smooth running of the committee to deliver on its mandate, Mnisi said.

Mnisi said he had been appointed honorary life president of the LFA and his post on the disciplinary committee was one of those that were up for grabs. As an honorary life president of the LFA, the rules of the organisation did not allow him to sit on the disciplinary committee.

“This is why I am putting the word out there on behalf of the LFA. I urge those of you who have time on your hands to come forward and join the disciplinary committee for the survival and smooth running of our football.”

Members of AFVA, Daniel Thamaga, a former referee, Tshepo Morebudi, Saul Sibeko and Jack Sibeko have already put up their hands.
