Sinky vows to deliver Marumo back to premiership football
My mandate from Marumo Gallants is to deliver the outfit back to the DStv Premiership and I will do it at all costs, says new CEO Sinky Mnisi.
Relegated Marumo Gallants has vowed to spend just a minimum of a single season in the wilderness and then return to the DStv Premiership where it belongs.
These were the ambitious words of the Motsepe Foundation Championship outfit’s newly appointed CEO Sinky Mnisi when he was unveiled recently at a press conference at Hotel Sky in Sandton.
Mnisi, who parted ways with Royal AM on December 28, 2022, never minced his words about his ambitions to see ‘Bahlabane ba Ntwa’ [brave warriors], as Marumo is known to their avid fans, return to the DStv Premiership.

“This is where they belong as their impressive exploits in the recent Caf competitions showed. I chose Marumo after being directed by my ancestors to return to football and to specifically go to Marumo Gallants.
“I am deeply honoured to be joining such an ambitious outfit as Marumo and look forward to taking this brand back where it belongs. I am confident I will deliver it back to the premier division as per mandate from the club,” Mnisi said.
“I can tell you now that we are going to spend a minimum of a single season in the National First Division and then return to the DStv Premiership. I am sounding a warning to the other teams in the Motsepe Foundation Championship that we mean business.

“They must watch us, and this is a war that we must win at all cost,” Mnisi declared, adding; “I will personally meet them [the teams] in the tunnel.”
A highly colourful football figure of the era of the Premier Soccer League, having founded a resilient Classic FC in Thembisa and later on established Vardos FC, Mnisi called upon all and sundry at Marumo Gallants to ‘role up your sleeves and get down to hard work and return this brand where it belongs’.
“I am declaring here that we must use every weapon available to us to win the war and ensure that this brand returns to the elite league in the country. Players and the technical staff will lead in front and I will be at the back and firing the cylinders,” he said.

Marumo took advantage of its spell in Africa on the Caf competitions and sourced various talented players that Mnisi hopes will play their role in taking this side back to the DStv Premiership.
