The youngest of the champions, Alex Black Poison’s U15 side, had a remarkable season marked by relentless form. Coach Phathutshedzo Maseko praised the team’s discipline, noting they strung together 11 consecutive victories before their first loss. “Out of 20 games, we won 17, lost two, and drew one. The performance was a hundred percent,” he said.

Club partner Joey Mabusela described the victory as a reward for investing in youth talent. “You can imagine betting on a winning horse, you are surely going to be successful,” he remarked. Board member Brutas Buthelezi added that the boys overcame challenges ranging from school obligations to family pressures, making their consistency even more impressive.

While Black Poison’s U15 season was dominant, Happy Fighters FC’s U17 campaign was flawless. Coach Malibongwe Mnyenjwa said the success was no accident. “Before they even started, I told all my coaches that this season, I am gunning for everything and I want everything,” he said. His team delivered on that promise, finishing unbeaten with 14 wins and two draws. Mnyenjwa said they have not been defeated since September 2024. He credited belief and motivation as the driving forces behind the team’s hunger.

Completing the trio of champions, Winter Rose FC’s newly formed U19 side captured its league crown with near perfection. Chairperson Fuzile Mhlambiso emphasised that while tournaments have showcased the club’s competitiveness, the league was the true test of their consistency. “The most important achievement for me is when a team takes the league, because they would have contended against 16 teams,” he said.

Winter Rose’s record 10 wins and one draw from 11 matches was a statement of reliability. Mhlambiso said the triumph reflected growth from their U17 foundation and sets the stage for senior football. “This is their last U19 season, so we spoke about seizing the 2025 league title, not only tournament trophies. Now our boys have grown, and we want to take them to the senior division,” he added.

Together, Black Poison, Happy Fighters, and Winter Rose have set a benchmark for young soccer players in Alexandra. Their league triumphs across U15, U17, and U19 divisions highlight a culture of hard work that is shaping the ANLFA’s next generation of champions.
