“We did well because before our first loss, we won 11 games in a row. Out of 20 games, we won 17, lost two, and drew one. The performance was a hundred percent,” he said.

Joey Mabusela, founder of Joey De Tenor and a long-standing partner of Alex Black Poison, praised the team’s success, noting that their investment had paid off.

“I am super happy for the boys, and you know this is a good investment. You can imagine betting on a winning horse, you are surely going to be successful,” he remarked.

He emphasised the importance of nurturing talent at an early age, as it fosters the hunger to win as players grow.

Club board member Brutas Buthelezi also lauded the boys and the coach for their outstanding performance this season.

“There are many challenges in sports, sometimes players have problems at home and other times, they have obligations pertaining to their schoolwork,” he said, adding that this is what sometimes worsens absenteeism in training.

He said he is happy that the boys won the league as this proves that some issues they highlighted during training sessions were corrected. “I am proud and I would love to thank LFA for the medals they awarded us.”

He stressed that this victory is only the beginning of many more to come.
