Armor FC’s 4th-place hopes hinge on flawless finish
Considering their current 7th place position with 41 points, Armor FC’s desire to rise to the regional league’s fourth position is not impossible, but hinges heavily on Armor winning all their remaining games and other top teams significantly dropping points in their next fixtures.
The recent two consecutive wins, 1-0 against United Stars at the Alex Safe Hub and 5-2 against La Masia Elite at the Diepsloot Safe Hub, have put Armor FC on the path to seize their coveted fourth-place finish in the Hollywoodbets Regional League, but the work is far from done.
Coach Sam Mtambo has kept faith in his team’s ability to climb the log, but he is fully aware of the grave demands ahead.

Armor’s recent surge over the weekend lifted them from ninth to seventh place, and Mtambo insists that every remaining fixture must yield three points if they are to accelerate their ascent.
Mtambo said the recent wins have improved their confidence and morale, putting them in a better mental state to take on other opponents. But he admitted that there is still work to be done.
“We are not penetrating the third half; we are not getting into scoring opportunities. I want to work on the attacking players to enter the third half, be composed, and win. This is my main objective this week and going forward.”
Defensive lapses remain a concern. Despite the win over La Masia, Armor conceded twice, exposing concentration issues that Mtambo is determined to fix.

“We need to concentrate on the whole 90 minutes. In all the draws, we just give away goals. We have a lot of defensive errors, so we need to concentrate until the game ends,” he said.
These defensive frailties are underscored by the 51 goals conceded this season, compared to the 58 they have scored. Mtambo emphasised his determination to shift the balance by scoring more and conceding less.
Now, with about 15 points left to play for, Armor’s dream of finishing fourth depends not only on their own consistency but also on Westbury Munich FC and other contenders heavily dropping points.
But with fixtures against tough opponents such as Gomtown Boyz FC, who proved a thorn in Armor’s flesh earlier this year with a 3-2 win, the rise will be anything but easy.
However, Mtambo is determined to work with his team to rise to the challenge.
