While Super Stars are happy, Mighty Heroes are disappointed by draw
Zanemvula Hintso's side battled to a 3–3 draw at the 3 Square Sports Grounds, a result the Super Stars manager says reflects his young team's growth.
Super Stars FC and Mighty Heroes FC fought tooth and nail to a 3–3 draw in an Alexandra Northrand Local Football Association (ANLFA) U19 league fixture at the 3 Square Sports Grounds on August 9.
The result left Mighty Heroes disappointed, though for Super Stars manager Zanemvula Hintso, the draw carried extra significance.

He said it came after his side had lost their previous game to the same opponents, and he believes the turnaround points to genuine progress in a squad still finding its feet.
“Now, we are trying to build the team. I can see the spirit of these boys, and that they will eventually grow to challenge other teams.”
Sunday’s draw followed a 4–0 win the day before, a result he pointed to as further evidence of his side’s progress, even if the quick turnaround took its toll.
He conceded his team could have performed better, but pointed to the demands of playing two matches inside 24 hours, compounded by the unavailability of some regular players.
“We are trying to push and encourage the boys. Some of the boys that were playing here are U17 players, and we are trying to promote them to play in this U19 division.”
Despite the draw, Hintso said he was satisfied with his side’s trajectory, adding that a club once overlooked was starting to earn its respect on the field.

Meanwhile, the mood was less upbeat for Mighty Heroes. Coach Rafael Ndhlovu had gone into the match expecting a win. For him, he said, every fixture carries final-like stakes, and anything less than maximum points is a missed opportunity.
Like his counterpart, Ndhlovu had to make do without several regular players, calling up reinforcements from a lower division, but it was his side’s defending that troubled him most.
“We are still lacking. Even yesterday, we almost conceded goals, but luck was on our side. Today, we did concede three goals. So, we have to look back at our defence and see what we can do.”
With both sides now weighing the toll of a congested fixture list, the shared spoils leave Super Stars encouraged and Mighty Heroes with clear homework to do before their next outing.
