Don Dada releases two singles featuring Jessica Mbangeni

Menelik Nesta Gibbons, popularly known as Don Dada, said he started playing music at a tender age and had released two singles at the age of 13.
The reggae artist grew up in Turffontein in a family that loved music. “I grew up in a Rastafarian home, my father was a Rastaman hence the pursuit of reggae music,” Dada said.
His mother and manager Layla Gibbons said his first releases were not commercial but had drawn the attention he needed.

“He is the first hip-hop artist to be slotted into a strictly garage band competition and finally found himself hosting the 5FM Mark Gillman Make me Famous breakfast show from his home studio while still in high school. The show was carried by Mnet on a channel called GoTV as a series for six weeks,” said Layla.
“He also performed at the 2011 Arts Alive [one of the biggest music showcases on South Africa’s music calendar], and also featured on Maggz’s song kukwam’la [a track that reached number one on 5FM’s hip-hop power nights].”

His father Moses, also known as RasMoe, is his road manager and together they run a studio, Ruff Cutt Studio.
Don Dada released two singles in March, Unity featuring Jessica Mbangeni and No more, and the tracks are available on all digital platforms.
Don Dada is also a radio host on 1912 Online Radio, Soundwave Radio and Viva Nation Radio where he hosts the reggae segments.
