Rugby and netball top the bill at 2014 festival

Saheti School’s annual rugby sevens and netball festival was held on Saturday, March 1.

The event featured 24 rugby teams and 27 netball teams, representing 17 schools in the U/16 and U/19 age groups.

This was the 21st year the Rugby Sevens festival has been staged by Saheti School.

The seven-a-side rugby and netball festival has become an institution in its own right and is used as a curtain raiser of the school’s winter sports calendar.

The event attracts schools from across the Witwatersrand.

The popular sevens format applies, with teams playing pool games followed by plate, shield and championship sections. The netball section of the festival also includes a bowl trophy.
