Father and daughter shine at KenRho tournament

The KenRho Park Tennis Club in Kensington held a friendly tournament on July 4.

The Van den Berg family from Kensington shone on the day as Grant and his daughter Lauren both won titles on the day.

Lauren, who is 17 years old, took the ladies single title while Grant was the winner of the men’s doubles title with David Pike.

Resident coach, Wayne Venter, said the two have been members of the club and he was proud of their achievements.

“I am happy to have a title under my name as this motivates me to work harder and to do better,” said Lauren.

“I love playing tennis but most importantly, I support my daughter and I want her to do well in her sport. I’m proud of her win. I wish her well and I encourage her to win more titles,” said Grant.
